It is continuously quoted that retail is a dynamic and competitive industry and that every brand has to invest and evolve to maintain its success.<br/><br/>Equally it is a well-rehearsed argument that most of the retail failures – Woolworths, HMV, Jessops, Comet etc. failed to keep pace and it was their failing business as much as the financial crisis that lead to their failure.<br/><br/>It seems no one is repeating this manta loudly at M&S.

The start of February saw the first stage of The Walnuts upgrade begin with the demolition of the former Orpington Job Centre at Crown House. The Walnuts Centre which is owned by Ellandi, Miller Developments and Metropolitan Estates was granted planning permission for the £10 million scheme in Autumn 2012.
