DW Sports kicks off with new Chatham store

DW Sports, the
national retailer owned by Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan is set to open up shop at
the Pentagon Centre, Chatham. The unit which opens in time for the Bank Holiday
on the 25th May will take the number of outlets up to 69 for the company that
has been steadily expanding.
This letting follows hot on the heels
of the opening of the new 10,500 sq ft 99p Store at the centre.
DW Sports which offers discount and
value on a range of top sporting brands including Adidas, Nike, New Balance and
Asics will create 20 new jobs for the local economy and will take the total occupancy
rates up to 86%.
Dave Whelan said of
the opening:
‘It is part of our continuous
strategy to open good value sports stores with fantastic products for all sport
and fitness enthusiasts. We strive to offer a fantastic range of sporting
clothing and equipment. It is out intention to make the DW Sports Store Chatham
one of our top retail stores.’
