Posted by Ellandi on 19th Nov 2015

Shopping centre investor Ellandi can now add The Loo of the Year Champions League award to its list of accolades. The Community Shopping Centre specialists have won ten individual Loo of the Year Awards across its portfolio of centres, all in Platinum or Gold standard.

The “Champions League” award recognises any organisation with ten or more entries winning five or more Gold or Platinum awards.

Amongst the portfolio, there were five platinum awards achieved at Trinity Shopping Centre (Aberdeen), The Pentagon Shopping Centre (Chatham), The Swan Shopping Centre (Eastleigh), Newlands Shopping Centre (Kettering) and Idlewells Shopping Centre (Sutton in Ashfield).

There were a further five gold standard toilets at The Howgate Shopping Centre (Falkirk), Bouverie Place Shopping Centre (Folkestone), Eastgate Shopping Centre  (Gloucester), The Mercury Mall (Romford) and White River Place (St Austell).

Property Director Mark Robinson commented “We are delighted to be the first shopping centre investor to be recognised with the prestigious Champions League award, despite over 100 individual Shopping Centres entering.

We’re relieved that the effort put into the design, maintenance and cleaning has been recognised and we look forward to rolling out similar improvements to our other schemes shortly.

Our commitment to bring the best facilities to local community shopping runs from the top to bottom of Ellandi.”

The Loo of The Year Award has been identifying the Best in Britain since 1987 and is recognised for setting the standard for all those who provide ‘away from home’ facilities for staff, customers and visitors.

Each entry receives an unannounced visit from an authorised Loo of The Year awards inspector and is assessed against tough judging criteria.

The toilet inspectors look at everything from signage to fixtures and fittings and overall cleanliness.
