A glowing year for Bloomfield Shopping Centre

We're seeking
to build on a bumper 2017 at Bloomfield Shopping Centre which saw 14 permanent lettings complete with the
likes of JD Sports, Superdrug, The Works, Holland & Barrett and The Perfume Shop, by
commencing works to build a new drive-through pod pre-let to Starbucks in Q1
2018.
The last 9 months have seen 14 deals
completed, 5 to new retailers including Superdrug, The Works and JD Sports. A
further 3 retailers have relocated within the scheme, including Holland &
Barrett who have doubled their original size.
The raft of lettings and pre-lettings
is a sign of retailer confidence in the scheme which is set to continue
following further investment and works planned.
Richard Hutchinson explains:
“We’ve recently completed nearly
£200,000 worth of works which included the addition of a porch to the main
entrance beside Next and JD Sports which had previously caused a wind tunnel
effect. Alongside this, we have removed some unattractive pod units from the central
mall providing some much-needed events space. Both projects were completed in
time for Christmas allowing for an improved shopping environment during the
festive season.”
In addition to building a Starbucks drive-through,
a further £400,000 of works are planned which will reconfigure and resurface the
car park in order to improve the flow and reduce congestion. Further
significant investment is planned over the next couple of years to build on
additional identified retailer demand and improved trading at the centre.
Richard added:
“2017 was a great year for the scheme,
with the additional investment being deployed over the next couple of years, we
have no doubt that the retailers will be queuing up for a space at Bloomfield
Shopping Centre”.
