UKGBC Retail Lab

In 2017, Ellandi's Sustainability Expert Jonathan Robson joined a host of representatives from the retail sector on a six month, highly bespoke, collaborative research and learning programme. The programme aimed to tackle the topic of health, wellbeing and productivity in retail environments.
The area tackled collectively by Ellandi and Workman was the impact of health and wellbeing on shopping centre users. From the work carried out by Jonathan and Vicky Cotton (Workman), they found that by making relatively minor changes (like toilet refurbishments and lighting upgrades) to the retail environment in terms of cost and ease to undertake, the users' perception of the space was generally improved.
The findings of the project have now been released by the UKGBC in their report titled UKGBC Wellbeing lab: Retail; A compendium of experience.
