One Great Day's donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital
Posted by Ellandi on 8th Nov 2018
Established in 2014, One Great Day was initiated by parents whose son
received care at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
One Great Day’s mission is to raise money and awareness for Great Ormond
Street and other children’s health charities that play a key role in local
communities. To achieve this, One Great Day organises an annual fundraising day
in shopping centres around the country. So far, over £500,000 has been raised
for more than 90 different children’s health charities.
All our shopping centres registered for this GREAT event last June and we are, together with OGD's other partners, delighted to have been part of this exciting cheque presentation to GOSH. The funds raised are being used to purchase two echocardiogram machines,
which will play a vital role in helping to diagnose, monitor and aid treatment
of heart conditions in children.
Laura Savory, Head of Community Fundraising at
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity said: “We’re so
grateful to everyone involved in the One Great Day events for their generosity
and support. The money they have raised will help to make a real difference to
seriously ill children from across the UK.”
Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the world’s leading
children’s hospitals with the broadest range of dedicated, children’s
healthcare specialists under one roof in the UK. The hospital’s pioneering
research and treatment gives hope to children from across the UK with the
rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions. Our patients
and families are central to everything we do – from the moment they come
through the door and for as long as they need us.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity needs to raise
money to support the hospital to give children who need help the most the best
chance for life. The charity funds research into pioneering new treatments for
children, provides the most up to date medical equipment, funds support
services for children and their families and supports the essential rebuilding
and refurbishment of the hospital. You can help us to provide world class care
for our patients and families. For more information visit www.gosh.org
