In a bid to rethink the archetypal shopping centre model, Ellandi has been working to repurpose the space above the Castlegate Shopping Centre, transforming it into contemporary office accommodation to meet the requirements of local businesses.
Karen Eve, Centre Manager of Castlegate Shopping Centre says: “The flexible working space brings a new dimension for businesses in the town centre and suits the growing number of independent and freelance operators, whilst also meeting the business needs of small to medium enterprise’s, with one to fifty employees.”
Within a prime location in the town centre, access to amenities, good transport links and part of a wider strategy to bring business into the centre of Stockton, phase one sees the development of sixteen flexible office spaces with an investment of £30,000.
The first phase showcases the development of Walker House, situated above Castlegate Shopping Centre, which now houses The White Box Office Collection office space, in the newly named Castlegate Business Centre.
“As a trusted landlord, Castlegate Business Centre intends to bring businesses into the town centre and is ideal for independent businesses or those from larger businesses in the wider area, who need a central location with flexible terms.
“It makes sense to realise the potential of Castlegate Shopping Centre and to invest in a professional services offering right on the high street. For retail locations to grow, they need to be combined with essential civic services and wider business amenities,” adds Karen Eve.
Castlegate Shopping Centre has been in Stockton for almost fifty years, thriving with a great mix of national and local businesses, and now realizing a vision of development, fit for the future with a programme of works and investment.
“Castlegate Business Centre gives businesses access to a unique offering. The flexible office space and terms, will go some way to meeting the challenges that face the high street and town-wide businesses, and in turn, this supports the shopping centre tenants and the wider community,” concludes Karen Eve.
The creative business space offers a contemporary design suitable for hot desking, or offices for 1 to 6 people, as well as bespoke space. Affordable rental options are available from £150 per month for a two desk office, shared kitchen facility, access to a meeting room, super-fast fibre broadband, heating, lighting and 24-hour on-site security. There’s easy access to all the shopping centre’s retailers as well as Stockton’s wider offering for shopping, entertainment, restaurants and bars. Close to many schools in the area, making a business base in the centre of Stockton offers an easier child drop off and pick-up, combining the best of a work-life balance.
There are over 800 parking spaces and permits for tenants are also available.
The new Castlegate Business Centre provides an ancillary use to the centre, meeting the requirements of the local catchment and repurposing disused spaced.
