Step forward for retail scheme

A scheme to expand the retail provision in St Austell town centre has taken a step forward this week with a pre-planning application submission to Cornwall Council.
Ellandi, owner of White River Place, in conjunction with the existing site owners, is seeking official feedback on its plans to redevelop Old Vicarage Place.
The plans propose a modern new look for the town centre’s retail area. The proposed development at Old Vicarage Place will create an additional 124,000 sq ft of retail space for the town and represents an £18 million investment.
Mark Robinson of Ellandi said: “In recent months we have been working on the complete redevelopment of Old Vicarage Place and are looking forward to hearing the initial feedback on the plans before submitting a full planning application.“
Being a prime town centre site, it is completely in accordance with national and local planning policy and therefore represents the most credible and sustainable way to grow the retail provision for St Austell.”
