Budding entrepreneurs are being invited to enter a competition - to win a shop!
The Strand Shopping Centre in Bootle is launching the opportunity to enable one winner to run a retail unit for a year within the complex - with rent, rates and services charges free.
Strand marketing manager Lucy Kirk said: “If you have ever dreamed of running your own business, have an idea for a brand or just want a change in direction, this competition is for you.
“In addition to the shop unit we will provide you with help and support to get started by fitting out your store, setting up your business and highlighting it to the local community.
“We have arranged an expert panel to help and advise you in all aspects so you don’t feel daunted by the prospect!”
The Strand has teamed up with M&S for retail mentoring, a financial expert for money issues, Sefton Council leader for help with community issues, The Strand Marketing services, and Sefton at work mentoring for staffing and retail training.
Lucy said “This is a really exciting initiative for the centre and it will be really interesting to see the ideas of the local community as to what they feel the centre will benefit from.
“We are looking forward to receiving the entries and working with the winner to make their business a success.”
