#Retail Rocks set to be One Great Day

Thursday 2nd July marks the date for the annual Ellandi #RetailRocks conference. In its fourth year, the conference has rapidly become established as a leading shopping centre property conference, uniquely embracing a wide spectrum of senior industry players incorporating occupiers, banks, funds, agents and private equity investors. 

The event which is made up of two panel sessions and a key note speech is themed “Ellandi’s Summer of Love – “It’s a thin line between love & hate” and focuses on the relationship between landlords & tenants. 

Contributors comprise senior management from retailers Pep & Co and Poundland; REITs Capital & Regional and NewRiver Retail; investors Tristan Capital Partners & Angelo Gordon and lenders Chenavari and Lloyds Bank. 

Property Director Mark Robinson commented, “In previous years #RetailRocks predicted a re-pricing of shopping centres that were perceived as secondary and last year the myth of the internet destroying the High Street was exploded, which is now more widely understood.” 

“We genuinely hope that a grown up discussion around landlord and tenant relationship, alongside examples of how we can learn best practice from our European cousins, will help to begin to reset what is often a far too adversarial relationship between landlords and their partners.” 

The event is invite only and is followed by a drinks party. All of the invites to this year’s event have been fully allocated. 

To run alongside #RetailRocks and in conjunction with a number of their shopping centres Ellandi will be supporting One Great Day.  This charity was established last year by F&C REIT to support Great Ormond Street Hospital and other children’s charities located near the shopping centres that take part. 

This year Ellandi have joined with F&C REIT to support One Great Day and both investors hope to establish One Great Day as the shopping centre industry’s flagship charity event. 

Alongside the 9 Ellandi shopping centres who are hosting events on the 27th June, Ellandi have challenged their 21 centre managers to raise a minimum of £1,000 each on receiving a piece of a larger puzzle. They will have 24 hours to get the piece to London where the puzzle will be assembled at the Geological Society on the 2nd July.
