Why I Wanted to Join Ellandi:


My decision to join was motivated by the company's dedication to social value, community engagement, and its entrepreneurial ethos. There was a strong emphasis on creating inclusive spaces and fostering community, which resonated deeply with me, particularly considering my background originating from a small island. Also, as a graduate, what truly set Ellandi apart was its direct entry approach, which deviated from the traditional graduate scheme; the opportunity allowed for rapid career growth which I think I have greatly benefitted from.

 

How My Role Has Developed:


Starting as an Assistant Asset Manager, my journey has been challenging but transformative for my career. Currently, I find myself immersed in a dynamic collaboration with local government on exciting regeneration projects, a role that presents unanticipated yet invigorating challenges. I’m now honing my skills in development management alongside my expertise in retail asset management, which I think is invaluable. The beauty of this job is that everything is so dynamic – everyday there is a new challenge to overcome whether it be small details on the ground or broader investment challenges.

 

How I Have Been Supported:


Their receptiveness to suggestions and enthusiasm for facilitating training and programmes does not go unnoticed. I am currently undertaking my APC on the commercial pathway, which was something that was not originally offered when I joined but they have been receptive in allowing me to do it independently. Another notable highlight has been the latitude granted to establish my personal, professional brand within our industry. I’ve been empowered to expand my presence through various channels, including social media, speaking engagements, articles, and committee involvements – opportunities for which I am very grateful.
